Chelsea have been told there are two clubs who could tempt Cole Palmer away from Stamford Bridge in the future.
The 22-year-old has been sensational for the Blues since completing a £42.5million move from Manchester City last summer. After first impressing under Mauricio Pochettino in his debut season in west London, Palmer has been equally as impressive under Enzo Maresca.
The attacking midfielder has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season, while he also has six assists. Palmer's form has helped Chelsea mount an unlikely title challenge, with the Blues currently second and four points behind leaders Liverpool.
Despite Chelsea's impressive form this campaign, former defender William Gallas believes Palmer could be tempted by an exit in the coming years if two clubs in particular come in for the England international. Speaking to Prime Casino, Gallas said: "At the moment, I think only Real Madrid and Barcelona could tempt Cole Palmer away from Chelsea and I think he would thrive playing his football in Spain.
"That could be three seasons in the future, but I think Chelsea fans should hope that neither of those clubs come in for him any time soon."
Palmer did sign a two-year contract extension with the Blues in August, with his current deal now running until 2033. "I’m delighted to sign this new deal," he said at the time.
"I achieved a lot in my first season here and hopefully I can continue to experience great things at this club, both on a personal level and in terms of bringing success and trophies to Chelsea."
It seems then, for now, that Palmer is more than happy with life at Stamford Bridge and intends to try and help the club win as many trophies as possible in the coming years. If the former Man City man continues his current trajectory, though, it may not be long before clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona come knocking.
