PL giants holding out for‘huge’fee from Arsenal for 25G/A star

West Ham United could be tempted to part ways with star winger Mohammed Kudus should Arsenal submit a ‘huge’ offer for the Ghana international in January. This is as per reports from Football Insider, who have added that the Gunners are swiftly making moves to deal with the setback of Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury which will rule him out for 8-10 weeks.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed in his press conference ahead of the Premier League clash against Ipswich that Saka has picked up a serious injury and would be sidelined for many weeks. As a result, the Gunners could be set to reignite their interest in Kudus – a player whom they have been tracking and monitoring since his Ajax days.

Aged just 24, Kudus is already a nearly-irreplaceable player for West Ham despite being at the club for a short time. Since joining, he has made 59 appearances for the Hammers across competitions, scoring 17 goals and also providing eight assists.

Should Arsenal take the leap of faith with Kudus in January?

As per the aforementioned report, West Ham appear to be relaxed and willing to let Mohammed Kudus leave in January. However, they have maintained their stance on the fee and are unlikely to budge from a decent asking price.

They signed Kudus from Ajax last year for £38million and will now seek a profit on their original investment, having seen how impactful the 24-year-old can be on the pitch. A strong, pacey, determined and driven player, Kudus has the perfect tools to excel in the Premier League.

Additionally, former West Ham senior scout Mick Brown has told Football Insider that he expects Kudus to leave the London Stadium. However, Brown also insisted that the offered fee will have to be significantly bigger than the sum that was paid for Kudus last year. He said,

“In their current situation, Arsenal want to sign somebody in January. I know West Ham aren’t exactly desperate to keep hold of Kudus, so on that basis, they might be open to letting him go. I think it’ll take a huge offer, though, because it has to be worthwhile losing a player who is still an important player in the team.”

It remains to be seen how this saga pans out.
