Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s current contract at Everton runs out in the summer of 2025.
The Englishman has been a regular for the Toffees this season under Sean Dyche, playing 16 Premier League games. But he has scored only two goals and there has been no movement regarding a new deal for the striker.
This led to a report from Gianluca di Marzio stating last week that Fiorentina are interested in the Everton man and could look to land him in January.
FIFA agent Lorenzo de Santis has now spoken about the striker. In a chat with Lady Radio, he praised Calvert-Lewin, stating that he could be a good fit for Fiorentina.
He said, as relayed by LabaroViola: “Calvert-Lewin is an interesting profile, with a valuable CV. Often players coming from the Premier League manage to settle in well in Serie A – just think of Salah ‘s impact during his time in Florence.”
Further, De Santis reflected on why the 27-year-old might suit the Italian side from a financial perspective.
He said: “Fiorentina could look for a striker already in the Italian championship, but it is difficult for those who have good players to decide to sell them, as in the case of [Lorenzo] Lucca and [Milan] Djuric . Abroad, however, opportunities can be seized in the final days of the market, perhaps at lower costs.”
It would be disappointing for Everton to lose a player like Calvert-Lewin for a low fee or for free, considering how he is still 27 and has scored 70 goals in 263 games for the club.
Beto has also been linked with a move to Italy in the past few months and the Toffees can’t afford to lose both strikers in a short space of time.
