Four exciting Newcastle youngsters who could break through in 2025, including 'unique' attacker …

Newcastle United know they need more youngsters to emerge from their academy.

In the era of PSR, it is vital that Newcastle United produce their own talent.

Fortunately, there are plenty of exciting youngsters at St James’ Park already. 2023 and 2024 saw the emergence of Lewis Miley, and the midfielder is very much considered a senior player despite only being 18-years-old.

Elsewhere, Newcastle fans can look forward to the arrival of Vakhtang Salia. The 17-year-old is due to join the Magpies in August from Dinamo Tbilisi, with Toon officials hoping they have landed a major star of the future.

But do not expect to see much of the Georgian teenager in 2025, as Newcastle plan to loan Salia out as soon as his transfer is made official.

However, there are plenty of other Newcastle United youngsters who could enjoy breakthrough years in 2025.

Anthony Munda

Newcastle United are blessed with a lot of high quality midfielders, meaning opportunities could be limited in that position.

However, Anthony Munda has impressed Newcastle staff, with the 18-year-old regularly shining for the Magpies’ Under-21s.

MORE NEWCASTLE STORIES

Munda wants to surpass the likes of Joelinton and Joe Willock at Newcastle, and he is one to watch in 2025. After appearing in pre-season in 2024, expect to see more of him over the next 12 months.

Leo Shahar

Despite only being 17-years-old, all roads appear to lead towards Leo Shahar becoming a star at St James’ Park.

The teenage right-back is blessed with extremely good delivery, while he regularly captains the Magpies’ youth sides.

With Kieran Trippier likely to leave Newcastle in 2025, Eddie Howe already has a readymade replacement for the veteran defender. The only concern is that Shahar is perhaps a bit too young to serve as Tino Livramento’s deputy.

But for a player who turns 18 in March, it feels likely that Shahar will be in and around the first-team over the next 12 months.

Alfie Harrison

When Newcastle signed Alfie Harrison, the attacking midfielder was given a clear route into the first-team. It was a key reason why he left Manchester City to join the Magpies.

The 19-year-old has already shown his qualities at senior level, getting a few opportunities to impress during Newcastle’s pre-season preparations. He certainly is not shy, and possesses the type of confidence you need from someone in his position.

Given how much Howe used Harrison in 2024’s pre-season, more chances in 2025 feel inevitable.

Trevan Sanusi

Out of every Newcastle United youngster, Trevan Sanusi feels the most likely to make his senior Toon debut in 2025.

The 17-year-old was the Magpies’ most exciting player in pre-season, with Sanusi dazzling Newcastle supporters with his skill and trickery.

Howe has encouraged Sanusi to be better in the final third, but the Newcastle United manager certainly likes what he sees from a player who has been compared to Allan Saint-Maximin.

Sanusi is ‘unique’, and he looks destined to make it in the Premier League. Turning 18 in April, 2025 could be another big year for a player who turned a lot of Toon heads in 2024.
