With Brentford’s training centre just a short hop from Heathrow, Europe’s busiest airport, a constant stream of airplanes roar overhead as the large red gates open at the Hounslow venue.

Here, the Bees’ HQ is a hive of activity too. TV cameras are being set up in advance of Thomas Frank’s afternoon press conference while across the car park, the manager is busy on the training pitch with his team ahead of their Premier League clash at Chelsea, just a couple of stops west on the Piccadilly line.
