Leeds United are right there in the mix for automatic promotion to the Premier League and next summer, if Daniel Farke do go up – which positions in the starting line-up require replacing?
It has been back and forth over the last couple of months when it comes to the team sitting at the top of the table. But Leeds are well-positioned with six clubs still within a shout of finishing in the top two.
The pressure is on Daniel Farke to secure promotion at the second time of asking, and his third career promotion to the Premier League. If Farke does, which starting options do Leeds need to replace?

Illan Meslier
There is no doubting that Meslier is a top-class stopper – if the Frenchman is still Leeds’ no.1 going into the Premier League it’s not the end of the world. But, the £5m star’s Championship stats are a worry.
He might have 12 clean sheets in 22 Championship appearances, but Meslier is in the bottom-half of shot-stoppers this season in the league.
Jayden Bogle
When Leeds are an attacking, dominant side then it is great to have a player like Bogle flying forward on the right flank. In the Premier League, Bogle will not be afforded that luxury against much better sides.
Sheffield United expert Lee Connor told LeedsUnited.News the defensive side of Bogle’s game is a worry. A top attacking outlet, £5m Bogle’s defensive game is sceptical and there are examples in a Leeds shirt.
Junior Firpo
Leeds will want to keep The Dominican Republic star but Firpo is out of contract at the end of the season. Leeds may not want to have to replace the former Barcelona man, but they may be forced into doing so.

Leeds have been linked with the likes of Archie Brown, Dennis Cirkin and Daniel Svensson in recent weeks. But if promoted, then Firpo might choose to sign a new deal and then the need to replace him fizzles out.

Brenden Aaronson
There are already some calling for Aaronson to be replaced in January. What is for sure, is that the USA star needs competition and certainly, when it comes to Premier League promotion, another is needed.
Plenty of energy, technically sound, Aaronson is a talent but is he good enough to start in the Premier League? He showed in his first season that he struggled to provide the creativity required in the top tier.
Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph
After 18 months as Leeds manager, it is fair to say that Farke is still not sold on any of his three strikers as the club’s first-choice option. Perhaps, he sees them as enough in a rotational option to get promoted.
But one thing is for sure. In the Premier League, Leeds will need a much better option than the trio to score the necessary goals to keep Leeds up, if Farke’s men do get promoted at the end of the 24-25 term.
