A look at the players who could leave Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Arsenal have some big decisions to make in the January transfer window as they look to continue sculpting what they hope is a Premier League title-ready squad. With players out of contract in the summer, the Gunners must weigh up selling those who won’t be getting new deals, while also considering whether the sell out of favour players.

Mikel Arteta is not likely to get huge sums of money to spend, but there could be an addition here and there, potentially paving the way for more exits. Here we take a look at some of players at risk of a departure, and those who will likely be kept despite finding their Arsenal careers on shaky ground.

Jorginho - Stay

Jorginho is out of contract in the summer and he has barely been used this season. Any rhyme or reason would suggest a departure, but Arteta likes having him around the dressing room, and Jorginho seems to like his role despite obviously preferring to play more. It seems the Italian will be kept around, and that Arsenal are happy to lose him for free at the end of the season.

Thomas Partey - Stay

Partey is another who is out of contract, but he has played plenty this season, filling in at full-back as well as midfield. Arsenal would be wise to negotiate a one-year extension over the coming weeks, given the value Partey has offered to Arteta, particularly in times of need.

Kieran Tierney - Leave

Tierney has had a torrid time with injury but is now returning from his hamstring issue. Arteta has suggested the Scot could play a role despite casting him aside last season, but that is likely down to the injuries Arsenal have had at left-back. With Tierney out of contract in the summer, Arsenal are likely to allow him to leave if they receive the right offer in January. The alternative is losing a £25million signing for free, with a new contract not likely.

Oleksandr Zinchenko - Stay

Zinchenko is out of contract in the summer of 2026, and there has been talk of a departure. But Arsenal need depth at left-back, and the Ukrainian would cost too much to replace. A summer decision is more likely.

Jakub Kiwior - Leave

The rubber is beginning to meet the road as far as Kiwior is concerned. As a player entering key years in his career, he both wants and needs to be playing regular football. He has shown he is up to the task, even if he is not Arteta’s best option at centre-back or left-back. Interest is likely from Italy, and a loan move seems like the most likely resolution.

Gabriel Jesus - Stay

Jesus has been linked with an exit, but Arsenal can’t afford to lose a striking option. They only have two, and they are arguably not getting enough from either. Jesus did score a hat-trick in the cup recently, and he will be looking to regain Arteta’s trust over the coming weeks, given a reliance on Havertz, but a departure seems out of the question. It’s unclear whether the Gunners will try to sign a new striker, but either way, Jesus has value, and no departure decision is likely during the season. His current contract runs to 2027.
