Real Madrid’s problems in the defensive department due to injuries and lack of depth need no introduction.
Carlo Ancelotti has had to make do with just one senior centre-back – Antonio Rudiger – for most part of the season so far, pairing him up with players like Aurelien Tchouameni and young Raul Asencio.
As such, Los Blancos have been looking around in the market for reinforcements, even though a move in the January transfer window appears unlikely at the moment.
Antonio Silva offered to Real Madrid
Despite that, according to Defensa Central, superagent Jorge Mendes has offered the services of SL Benfica and Portugal defender Antonio Silva to Real Madrid.
Silva, just 21 years old, is a physically imposing and talented defender, who is already a full international with Portugal.
The youngster is in his third season with Benfica, where he has been a key player, although the recent sacking of Roger Schmidt has worked against him as the new coach, Bruno Lage, has opted for a defensive pairing of Nicolas Otamendi and Tomas Araujo.

Real Madrid have been monitoring Silva for quite some time now as one of the most promising centre-backs for the future.
And now, the Portuguese international has been offered to the Merengues by Mendes, although the reigning champions of Spain and Europe have decided against making any move for the player.
Solutions at home
As mentioned earlier, Real Madrid will not be turning to the winter transfer window, primarily due to the financial implications of such moves and because rival clubs would inevitably drive up the cost of players given the Merengues’ situation.
David Alaba is expected to return to group training next week, as confirmed by Ancelotti. Although it will take some time for him to reach his best, the Austrian’s return could be crucial for Real Madrid.
Additionally, Ancelotti can continue relying on Aurelien Tchouameni and Raul Asencio as options in the central defence.
