Arsenal could lose wonderkid for FREE as contract saga continues

Arsenal are at risk of losing one of their brightest young players for free, as contract negotiations to extend his stay with the club, where he has been since he was just 13 years old.

Ayden Heaven is a lifelong Arsenal fan and yet, despite breaking into the first team this season, he could be set to leave the club for free in the summer – as his current contract is due to expire, with no agreement on new terms finalised as of yet.

The 18-year-old has made just one senior appearance this season, in the Carabao Cup, but has been named in several matchday squads after impressing as a regular feature throughout the Gunners’ pre-season campaign, including their tour of the United States of America.

With Heaven’s contract set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, Arsenal are though to be locked in negotiations with the youngster over improved, and longer, terms, although those talks are yet to reach a breakthrough as the clock ticks down.

Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on the future of Heaven, confirming that top European clubs are also monitoring the situation: “Understand talks between Arsenal and 18-year-old talent Ayden Heaven over a new deal are still ongoing.

“Arsenal are pushing to get a contract done, while Ajax and Borussia Dortmund are both among interested clubs in case Ayden leaves Arsenalon free transfer.”

Following Edu Gaspar’s resignation as Sporting Director, the job of securing Heaven’s renewal will fall to his interim replacement and former right-hand man, Jason Ayto.

While it is far too early at this stage to determine whether Heaven will extend his Arsenal contract, fans have been voicing their opinions about the matter on social media, with one such supporter saying: “He should definitely sign in Arsenal and not Borussia Dortmund or Ajax. There is no comparison between the Premier League – which is the best league in the world and any other league in the world!”
