Amongst personal highs, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala experienced some lows

Jamal Musiala has become the most pivotal player at his club, Bayern Munich. However, one of the ills of being a Bayern player is facing Real Madrid a lot (and losing to them lately). 0-1 up in Madrid and within seconds of a UEFA Champions League final in the 23/24 season, Bayern managed to give it all away in the final few minutes. Meanwhile, one of the ills of being a Germany player lately has been losing to Spain. Germany, rather unfortunately and despite being arguably the better side, lost to Spain at the Euros in 2024. Musiala reflected on both moments when asked by Tz “Was the Quarterfinal exit against Spain your saddest moment of the year?”

It did not take much prodding for Musiala to come up with a response.

“In fact, both the defeat against Spain and the last-minute elimination in the semi-final second leg of the Champions League in Madrid against Real were very tough. After the defeat against Spain, my head was empty,” Musiala said (per @iMiaSanMia). “I hadn’t expected that, everything was going well, the team’s thoughts were very positive. Sometimes you can feel when a team is not in good form. Then a defeat doesn’t hurt quite as much. But when it feels unfair, it hurts very much.”

Hopefully, Musiala and Bayern can win some trophies this season.
