Man Utd team news: Predicted XI vs Wolves with Amad and Fernandes calls after 3-0 defeat

Football fans around the country will be polishing off their remaining Christmas leftovers to the sight of Manchester United visiting Wolves in the Premier League this evening. Ruben Amorim's side travel to Molineux in desperate need of three points after a humiliating 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth at Old Trafford last time out.

But the hosts are galvanised after a victory by the same scoreline at Ruud van Nistelrooy's Leicester City in Vitor Pereira's first match as manager.

To say Amorim's United line-ups are unpredictable would be an understatement as he continues to balance a hectic schedule with getting to grips with his squad.

But Express Sport runs through the most likely of many ways he could set United up against his Portuguese compatriot's Wolves.

Man Utd predicted XI vs Wolves (3-4-3)

Goalkeeper: Onana

Andre Onana is without a Premier League clean sheet in four matches, so he'll want to resume his Golden Glove pursuit at Molineux.

Defence: Yoro, Maguire, Martinez

Leny Yoro replaced Tyrell Malacia from the bench at half-time in United's defeat to Bournemouth last weekend. Expect that change in the starting line-up this time around.

Matthijs de Ligt's condition is uncertain, but he has missed the last two games through illness, so Harry Maguire will likely keep his place at the heart of the defence.

Lisandro Martinez is fortunate he's United's only available left-sided centre-back because his performances haven't been those of a player worthy of regular starts.

But Amorim seems to consider balance - regarding passing angles - just as important as Erik ten Hag, so the Argentine will likely play from the get-go again.

Midfield: Mazraoui, Ugarte, Eriksen, Dalot

Noussair Mazraoui started in the back three against Bournemouth - and his clumsy foul inside the penalty box sent the visitors on their way to another rout in M16.

He should return to right-wing-back against Wolves, with Yoro replacing Malacia, which would push Diogo Dalot over to the left.

The only plausible reason Amorim withdrew Manuel Ugarte on 55 minutes at the weekend was with the trip to the Black Country in mind. He'll start.

Kobbie Mainoo is unlikely to start again after playing the entire game a few days ago. Christian Eriksen could earn a rare start alongside Ugarte.

Attack: Amad, Fernandes, Hojlund

Amad played 90 minutes at the weekend but he was again one of United's better players. He is currently above Alejandro Garnacho in the pecking order.

Bruno Fernandes could drop into midfield, but Amorim undoubtedly prefers him as the playmaker in his attacking duo behind the striker.

Rasmus Hojlund dropped out of the starting line-up against Bournemouth after two quiet displays at Manchester City and Tottenham.

He should restore his spot in Joshua Zirkzee's place, though, after the Dutchman failed to make use of a starting berth.
