The January transfer window is now just a matter of days away and Everton’s new owners have arrived on Merseyside just in time.
There have been more promising signs for those at Everton of late, with the results having improved despite their league position still leaving a lot to be desired.
Although The Friedkin Group will have been pleased with what they saw in the draw against Chelsea on the weekend, there’s still room for improvement.
Since landing on Merseyside, The Friedkin Group are looking to invest both on and off the pitch with upgrades needed throughout the club.
And Fabrizio Romano has now provided an insight as to how the Toffees could spend during the January transfer window.

Everton expected to spend in the January transfer window
It has already been suggested Everton are eyeing Hakim Ziyech ahead of next month with the winger looking for a move away from Galatasaray.
And Romano believes the Toffees will be backed by their new owners as they aim to develop the squad they have inherited from Farhad Moshiri.
“Now with new owners, it is to be different, the structure is going to be different and it is going to take some time before they say: ‘Ok, let’s go for this player’,” said Romano.

“But, I’m hearing that they will do something in the January transfer window. The Friedkin Group know very well the Serie A market, so I’m hearing they’re already monitoring some players in Serie A.”
Some Roma fans have warned Everton about the Friedkins as the Italian side’s fans are starting to grow frustrated with the American owners.
But it does appear The Friedkin Group are looking to make a positive start to life on Merseyside with some January additions.
Everton sales needed to balance the books
January signings is certainly one way to get fans on their side, but there has to be a level of reality about next month’s transfer window.
Of course, fans want to see new signings but Everton fans will also want to see their club become financially sustainable again.
PSR is going to be a factor for Everton in the January transfer window.
And one way to get around that is to offload some players. Fortunately for the Friedkins, Everton have a number of players who are running out of contract.
Aside from out of contract players, there are also individuals like Beto who has interest from Serie A and could offer some financial leverage for the new owners.
