Barcelona have one condition for Man United winger who wants to play in Spain

Market opportunities often present themselves to FC Barcelona in almost every single transfer window. It is precisely the availability of such good deals that the Catalan giants tend to keep an eye out for. With a limit on how much Barcelona can spend, it makes sense for the club to be a lot more attentive to good market opportunities.

Unfortunately, it is not always the case that La Blaugrana end up finding options that perfectly fit what they need and at a low-cost as well. Given their recent issues with Financial Fair play and the restrictions imposed by La Liga, it has become much more difficult for Barcelona to pursue the players they really want.

However, in recent weeks, a certain development over in the English Premier League could be of use to the Catalan giants. Marcus Rashford, aged 27 and currently a player for Manchester United, seems intent on leaving the side this summer and he dreams of being able to play in Spain.

Now, as per SPORT, his dream destination in Spain would be that of FC Barcelona. Moreover, at least from the perspective of his profile and style of play, he could be the kind of player that La Blaugrana are looking for when it comes to finding a wide player who can operate effectively on the left flank of the attack.

However, with the relationship between Rashford and Manchester United deteriorating, a sale at an affordable price could materialize as the player even confessed his desire for a new challenge. Given that he is also one of the team’s highest earners and is not getting a lot of playing time, having been left out of the squad entirely as well at certain points, the Manchester-based club could be willing to let him go for under €40 million.

Yet, due to his high salary, Barcelona remains slightly cautious. Their condition to sign him, if at all, would be for him to at least agree to earn only half of his reported €17 million salary. A very unlikely outcome if all things are to be considered, but it is the only way in which Barça would be willing to let him join up.

The final decision will likely remain up to Marcus Rashford himself. He can either make the financial sacrifices necessary to join an ambitious sporting project such as the one being led by Hansi Flick, or he can choose to stay where he is. He could then also pursue other destinations that he has been linked to such as Saudi Arabia or Paris Saint-Germain.
