Exclusive: How Alphonso Davies really feels about PL transfer as Liverpool and Arsenal show interest

TBR Football can exclusively reveal how Alphonso Davies feels about a move to the Premier League as Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in his signature.

Liverpool contacted Davies’ representatives alongside Manchester United as both clubs feel the chance to potentially sign him on a free transfer from Bayern Munich in the summer is too good to turn down.

Arsenal felt Davies would join Real Madrid, preventing them from making an approach to sign the Champions League winner.

Davies’ contract situation at Bayern was deemed “positive” by sporting director Christoph Freund earlier this month. But a fresh revelation has emerged about the Canadian left-back’s future.

Alphonso Davies open to Premier League transfer as Liverpool and Arsenal eye move

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been informed that Alphonso Davies’ representatives have spoken to his suitors in the Premier League and assured them that he is seriously considering a move to England next year.

Liverpool and Arsenal are emerging as contenders to secure the 24-year-old’s services.

Real Madrid have been touted as Davies’ most likely destination if he bids farewell to the Allianz Arena. In July, it even appeared thar Davies had agreed a move to Real Madrid.

But TBR Football have been informed that the former Vancouver Whitecaps defender’s future is yet to be finalised.

Bayern are hopeful that Davies will renew his contract but they are aware that he is set to assess all the options that present themselves in front of him.

TBR Football understands that Liverpool and Arsenal are being kept informed about the five-time Bundesliga winner’s future while Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are also fans of the decorated speedster. Arsenal tried to sign Davies before he even headed to Bavaria in 2019.

Next week, Davies will be free to receive contract offers from a long list of clubs as he enters the final six months of his contract at Bayern.

Bayern Munich target Theo Hernandez as Alphonso Davies replacement

In the event that the Buduburam-born full-back departs Germany, Bayern Munich are targeting Theo Hernandez to replace him.

Considering the German giants already have a replacement in mind for Davies, who is keen on a move to the Premier League, both Arsenal and Liverpool would feel that he would be an obvious upgrade on their current options.

Currently, Liverpool’s left-back department includes Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas, who turn 31 and 29 respectively next year.

As for Arsenal, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori can both play the role as well as Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is seemingly out of favour with Mikel Arteta and youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The Bayern defender has been one of the best full-backs in the world for years and the opportunity to sign such a player on a free would make him one of the signings of the summer in 2025.
