Report: Eddie Howe would love to sign someone as good as £66m PSG star for Newcastle

Newcastle United won’t have much money to spend in January, but that won’t stop the rumours.

Eddie Howe look set to miss out on Bryan Mbeumo in January due to Brentford showing an unwillingness to do any business.

Newcastle United still want a right forward but they’ll have to look elsewhere, with Tyler Dibling another option for the Magpies.

However, it remains to be seen as to what price Southampton would sell at, as he’ll be seen as a vital cog in their push to avoid relegation this season.

Interestingly, it’s now been claimed that Eddie Howe would love someone as good as a PSG star in January, though a move for him isn’t possible.

Eddie Howe would love to sign someone as good as Xavi Simons

Xavi Simons is currently on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain.

He’s scored three goals in his 11 appearances this season. However, he really made a name for himself in Germany last season, scoring 10 goals and assisting 15.

Interestingly, Ian Darke of ESPN has claimed that Eddie Howe would love someone as good as Xavi Simons at St James’ Park.

He also picks Jeremie Frimpong as another player that the Newcastle boss would adore.

However, a move for either would likely have to wait until the summer, as the Magpies won’t have the funds to launch moves for their player in January.

What’s happening with Sandro Tonali at Newcastle?

Sandro Tonali is the subject of interest from AC Milan, the team who decided to sanction a £55m move for the Italian to join Newcastle United in 2023.

It’s been claimed that AC Milan are willing to offer three players for Tonali. Those players are Fikayo Tomori, Samuel Chukwueze and Reuben Loftus-Cheek.

Of course, it’s highly unlikely that Newcastle will want to let Tonali leave given his importance to Eddie Howe and his team, but it just proves the lengths AC Milan are willing to go to.

Tomori has already been linked with a move to Newcastle, whilst Chukwueze was of interest in 2023.
