Tottenham could be left ruing their missed opportunity if Randal Kolo Muani ends up at North London rivals Arsenal.
The 26-year-old French forward, currently on the books of Paris Saint-Germain, is reportedly set for a move in the January transfer window after failing to replicate his €75million (£64m) plus €15m (£12.2m) form from his Eintracht Frankfurt days. Despite an impressive tally of 23 goals and 17 assists in the Bundesliga, his return to France has seen him contribute just 18 times.
Spurs had previously eyed Muani as a potential Harry Kane replacement, but a delay in making a formal offer saw him opt for PSG instead. Now, with his standing under Luis Enrique dwindling, a Premier League move could be on the cards.
Enrique's recent decision to omit Muani from PSG's matchday squad speaks volumes, with the manager stating: "I could speak about it, but I won't because my decisions say it all. Even if, as I have said, all of my decisions can be changed."
Given the current demand for top-tier strikers, it's no surprise that Muani's availability has piqued interest in England. TBR Football suggests that Arsenal are mulling over the addition of a new centre forward next month, with Muani being a potential target.
Manchester United, with the potential exit of Marcus Rashford looming, could also be in the running. A loan deal with a commitment to purchase next summer is believed to be the most likely transfer situation.
Mikel Arteta, on the other hand, may be ruing Arsenal's missed opportunity to secure a striker during the summer transfer window. Their scoring deficiency has been glaringly apparent in recent weeks, causing the Gunners to fall behind in the title race.
