Report: Everton told to launch exciting move for 15-goal Championship star in January

Everton have had their fair share of issues over the first half of the 2024/25 campaign and scoring goals has certainly been one of them.

Sean Dyche’s side have secured back-to-back draws against Arsenal and Chelsea which would suggest a major step forward.

However, the issue of finding the back of the net remains with Everton having failed to score in either of those games.

The Friedkin Group are already eyeing January signings for Everton which will provide fans with some optimism for a better second half of the campaign.

But there are a number of issues up front for the Toffees which are needing to be resolved by the end of the month.

Everton urged to sign Borja Sainz

Dominic-Calvert-Lewin has been criticised heavily this season with the Englishman only returning a mere two goals in the Premier League.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, commentator Ian Darke has suggested the Toffees look at signing a new striker this January.

And the Norwich City star man Borja Sainz has been mooted as a name the Blues should be looking at.

‘Everton are desperate for one thing: goals,’ he said.

‘They should consider asking Norwich if the Championship’s 15- goal top scorer Borja Sainz is available. His dynamism would add a little spark to a struggling attack.’

Everton could offload Beto next month with Torino keen to sign the Portuguese striker on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Even if the Blues do not bring in a new striker next month, a change up top has to be on the cards for Sean Dyche with Armando Broja now returning from injury.

Borja Sainz is ready for Premier League move

It has been a sensational start to the campaign for Sainz despite the Canaries struggling in the bottom half of the table.

The 23-year-old has taken an early lead in the race for the Championship’s Golden Boot with a lead of five goals already.

Signing a striker from the Championship would prove a risk and signing him during the season could prove expensive.

But given Norwich are not exactly challenging for the play-offs, as things stand, perhaps a January move could be agreed if Everton were to make their move.
