Jarrod Bowen has just responded to a question about Liverpool and Manchester City, and his answer might just surprise a few people.
West Ham face a nightmare double-header immediately after today’s clash with Southampton, with incredibly difficult games against Liverpool and Manchester City to come.
If the Hammers are to take anything from those two games, we need to be on our best form, and Jarrod Bowen will have to be at his scintillating best.
Bowen has been fantastic for West Ham over the past few years, and he has been heavily linked with big money moves to Liverpool and Man City.
The 28-year-old is under contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2030 though, so any club wishing to sign him would have to make a mammoth offer for his services.

Bowen definitely has the technical ability and all-round quality needed to succeed at the very highest level of the game.
It seems like the former Hull City man has the mentality to reach the very top as well.
The Hammers face a really tough run after our Boxing Day clash with Southampton at St Mary’s down on the south coast.

A win today against the Saints will set us up perfectly for what lies ahead.
Captain Bowen spoke to WHUFC.com ahead of our upcoming festive fixtures.
And he responded when asked about the challenges in front of us after the Southampton clash – games against Liverpool and Manchester City.
Bowen said, “We have two really good games after Boxing Day. We play Liverpool at home and they’re obviously flying on top of the Premier League and the Champions League and are looking really strong.

“And obviously Man City are still champions for however many years in a row. We know that they’ve got a quality side. They’ve got a lot of quality on the day that can really hurt us, so they’re two really good games, but the full focus now is on Southampton.”
That’s the attitude I want to hear from our players.
How brilliant was that from Bowen.
The fact that he’s embracing the challenge of facing Liverpool and Manchester City rather than fearing it is hugely exciting as far as I’m concerned.
I have questioned Bowen’s mentality in the past, and if I’m being honest, I still doubt his suitability to being club captain.
However, I must say that he seems to be growing into that role with every week that passes.
Jarrod Bowen is clearly approaching West Ham’s games against Liverpool and Manchester City with excitement and optimism, rather than trepidation.
Let’s hope that all of his teammates are on the same wavelength.
