West Ham have ‘shown interest’ in striker – Club forced to sell due to financial issues

West Ham’s Michail Antonio will be out of action for around a year due to his car accident earlier this month.

The 34-year-old’s absence will leave the Hammers with just one striker option in Niklas Fullkrug, but the German hasn’t quite made a mark in London due to injury.

This might make it a priority for Julen Lopetegui’s side to sign a new striker in January.

ASRomaLive have reported about the situation of Lyon striker Georges Mikautadze, who has attracted attention from Roma, Bologna, Juventus and Galatasaray.

It is mentioned that even West Ham have ‘shown interest’ in the Georgian, who can be sold by Lyon due to their major financial troubles. As a result, the 24-year-old adventure at the French club could already be over.

It isn’t the Hammers who are leading the race for Mikautadze though, as Galatasaray have accelerated their talks for the Georgia international.

They have already acquired the striker’s ‘yes’ for the move and while the move isn’t done yet, West Ham will have to hurry in their pursuit to land the player.
