Jordan Pickford proved to be the hero as he saved Erling Haaland’s spot kick, and it has now been revealed what helped him to pull off the save.

What Everton’s Jordan Pickford did before saving Erling Haaland’s penalty

It was a huge moment in the game to see the score kept at 1-1 as Pickford got down low to save the Norwegian’s penalty.

And it seems he may have been able to put the City striker off before he was even able to take the penalty.

Amazon Prime shared footage of the England number one pulling faces at the striker as he lined up over the ball.

It may well have paid off for the shot-stopper as he continued his fine run of form between the sticks for the Toffees.

Pickford impressed the Arsenal fans earlier in the month with some fine saves to keep a clean sheet at the Emirates.

And it seems as if he is also proving the master of the dark arts to help keep his side in the game.

Jordan Pickford’s water bottle held penalty guidance

Pulling faces towards the Manchester City striker was not the only trick which Pickford had up his sleeve at the Etihad.

As seen previously during his time in an England shirt, Pickford’s water bottle also had some tips on which way to dive should they concede a penalty.

The 30-year-old has already saved Anthony Gordon’s penalty earlier on in the season and he was once again able to come to Everton’s rescue.

Pickford has received a lot of praise this season and it is moments like the penalty save which prove exactly why he has deserved it.
