Danny Mills was gobsmacked by the “magnificent” quality on show from Iliman Ndiaye after he equalised for Everton against Manchester City on Boxing Day.
Ndiaye has been a bright spark in an otherwise dull season for the Toffees this campaign and that quality shone through in their 1-1 draw with Man City at the Etihad Stadium on 26 December.
Attacking quality has haunted Everton all season and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin failing to score goals regularly, other players are required to step up and Ndiaye certainly did with his goal leaving Mills in awe.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (26 December, 1:08 pm), Mills exclaimed: “What a fantastic finish that is, absolutely magnificent. Rico Lewis doesn’t know where the player is, I think he turns the wrong way, has no idea where Ndiaye is.
“He’s got far too much space for that situation, controls it, and the outside of his foot puts it into the far corner with a magnificent finish.”

If the rest of Everton’s attacking players could provide the consistent level of quality of Ndiaye, they would be nowhere near the bottom of the Premier League and it is a testament to how impressive he has been this season.
The Senegalese forward has earned his plaudits at Goodison Park and week after week he continues to showcase his importance to the side.
His strike against City was his fourth goal of the campaign and certainly one of his best although his full potential is still yet to be unlocked at Everton.

If Everton can utilise the January window to increase their attacking options, Ndiaye will only thrive more and he can singlehandedly spearhead the Toffees’ revival.
There will be plenty of positives to be taken from their Boxing Day clash against the reigning Premier League champions with the performance much improved from those in recent weeks in an attacking sense.
