City Join Arsenal And Chelsea In Pursuit Of £41M Rated World Cup Finalist Who Has 'Fallen Out' With His Manager

Manchester City are one of three Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on Theo Hernandez’s situation at AC Milan, according to reports.

The France international, who reached the World Cup final with his country in 2022, has not started the Rossoneri’s last two games.

TBRFootball claim that is because Hernandez has “fallen out” with head coach Paulo Fonseca and it could lead to the fullback leaving the San Siro.

They say that City, Arsenal and Chelsea have asked to be kept informed of developments if the defender is made available for transfer.

Hernandez’s contract situation is also an important factor

The 27-year-old has 18 months left on his current deal at Milan and it has been reported that talks over an extension have stalled.

There have been suggestions that Hernandez could be sold if a club is willing to pay around €50m (£41m), although those claims have not been substantiated.

Considering the left-back‘s ability, that sort of fee will definitely tempt the likes of City into making a move for him in January or at the end of the season. The player is said to have been on the club’s radar for quite some time.

City will be looking to strengthen when the transfer window opens

Pep Guardiola’s side have lost 9 of their last 12 matches in all competitions so there is an urgent need to reinforce the squad.

However, it is believed that the baulk of the club’s transfer dealings will take place next summer, rather than in January.

Of course, if Hernandez does come on the market, and the opportunity is there to get him, then the Premier League champions may decide it is worth spending the money to bring the defender to the Etihad now.
