REPORT: Chelsea Will 'Consider Selling' Forward Who Was Only Signed For £45M Four Months Ago

Chelsea are “set to consider selling” Joao Felix during the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Blues signed the Portuguese international for £45m from Atletico Madrid back in August but he has struggled to get regular game time in the Premier League.

GiveMeSport claim that there is likely to be plenty of interest in Felix, with Enzo Maresca‘s side set to field several enquiries about his availability over the coming days.

With the player having started just two league matches since arriving on a permanent basis from Atletico, the club fear that he will ask for a move.

It is expected that Chelsea will sit down with the player and his entourage very soon in order to discuss his immediate future.

Maresca won’t stand in the way of players wanting to leave Stamford Bridge

Speaking about the subject of unhappy players over the past week, the Blues head coach said that he doesn’t want anyone in his squad who isn’t 100% committed:

“If they knock on the door and they want to leave, I’m not going to say, “No, you have to stay here, 100 per cent”. If they want to leave, the best thing for everyone is that the players who aren’t happy leave.”

Felix may not be the only one who departs Chelsea

Maresca has already confirmed that the likes of Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka could move on to pasture’s new, while many believe that Cesare Casadei will return to Italy too.

There is also uncertainty over the futures of Christopher Nkunku, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Axel Disasi who (along with Felix) have had their minutes limited to the Conference League and the Carabao Cup this season. It could be a busy month at Stamford Bridge in terms of outgoings.
