Manchester United could loan out Marcus Rashford during the January transfer window, according to journalist David Ornstein.
Writing in the The Athletic’s ‘January Transfer DealSheet’ column, Ornstein said that Rashford’s wages effectively rule out a sale taking place next month:
“What might be more sensible is a loan. It would give him the chance to get back on track and rebuild his value before the issue is revisited post-season. Taking Rashford on a temporary basis should also avoid whoever gets him having to cover the whole of his salary.

“United have previously benefited from similar arrangements in the cases of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood at Borussia Dortmund and Getafe respectively. There is no indication they are pursuing such a route yet, but it is one to watch in the weeks ahead.”
Where could Rashford go?
Paris Saint-Germain have been touted as a possible destination but the Ligue One champions are not believed to be interested in the 27-year-old.
Due to the injuries sustained by both Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling, Arsenal have been suggested as a potential option too but that has also been dimissed by other sources.
Barcelona are another club that have been mentioned as a suitor, while a switch to the Saudi Pro League cannot be completely ruled out either, even though Rashford’s preference is to remain in Europe.
Will United replace the forward?
A lot may depend on the club’s other transfer business. Signing a wingback (or two) is said to be a top priority, while the club have also been linked with holding midfielders and a new striker.
The Red Devils could potentially get by without replacing Rashford, with Alejandro Garnarcho and Bruno Fernandes sharing duties on the left-hand side of the front three for the rest of the season.
