Iliman Ndiaye caused the Sky Sports studio to erupt after putting Everton back on level terms with Manchester City in a 1-1 draw on Thursday.
Bernardo Silva opened the scoring at the Etihad Stadium on 26 December, taking advantage of their early pressure, but the Toffees’ winger silenced the Man City fans with his equalising strike.
Pep Guardiola’s side should have been two goals to the good, but as Ndiaye rocketed his effort past Stefan Ortega, the likes of Paul Merson and Clinton Morrison could not hold back in the studios.
Speaking live via Sky Sports [26 December, 1:07pm], Smith said: “It’s Ndiaye with the finish. He’s looked like the one to give Everton a bit of spark going forward.
“It’s a delivery from the right-hand side, it falls to Ndiaye and it’s a brilliant first touch, then his finish is superb into the far corner.”

Iliman Ndiaye must be Everton attacking focus after what he did v Manchester City
Goals have been a massive issue for the Toffees under Sean Dyche, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto sharing the responsibility of hitting the back of the net.
Ndiaye has been an incredible addition to the squad since arriving in the summer and he continues to prove Kevin Thelwell right after spending £25million on the Senegalese [BBC Sport].
The Toffees showed minimal attempts to attack against the current Premier League champions, but when he was finally given that chance to make a key impact, he took it by the scruff of its neck.
It was just his third goal of the Premier League season but if Dyche’s players can continue to create these opportunities for him, he has more than enough quality to finish them off, whoever the opponent is.
Keeping clean sheets has become far less of a problem for the Blues, so once the lack of goals is fixed, Dyche should have every confidence that he can keep his team in the top division of English football.
