Manchester United and Arsenal will hold talks with the agent of Barcelona star Dani Olmo, the Spain international star who finds himself at the heart of a Camp Nou crisis.
Although LaLiga registered Dani Olmo for the first half of the season, this was done as an exceptional measure because of Barcelona’s injury problems. As things stand, the Catalan side cannot register him beyond 1 January due to the club’s ongoing financial problems.
Although the 26-year-old was only signed by Barca in the summer from RB Leipzig, he has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave for absolutely nothing in January if he cannot be registered in the second half of the campaign.
Both Manchester United and Arsenal are seeking to take advantage of this fact, while the Daily Mail reports that Andy Bara, the player’s agent, is in England to discuss the possibility of a deal with the two Premier League outfits.
Dani Olmo’s priority is said to be to stay with Barcelona, who have instigated legal proceedings in a bid to secure the registration of the player in January and beyond, yet Bara is taking no chances and is currently in England to talk terms with the giants.
Bara confirmed that he is in the country but offered a rather different explanation as to why he was taking in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Everton.
“Yes, it’s correct I am in Manchester,” he told the Daily Mail. “I am here on holiday.”
For Arsenal and Man Utd, it would represent an incredible piece of business if they were able to snap up the €55 million man for nothing at all.

Barcelona’s finances improving
Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently concluded a deal with Nike that he claimed was the “best commercial deal” in the history of club football, indicating that the club had turned a financial corner.
It appears touch and go as to whether this will be enough to keep Dani Olmo at Camp Nou, but if it is not, it will be a huge blow to Barca, who will see a €60m investment evaporate. Little wonder, then, they are doing everything in their power to ensure the Spain star does not depart for free.
