Arsenal legend Ian Wright has insisted that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim should sign one Premier League player who has “hunger” and “disrespect for everybody.”
Manchester United returned to winning ways last week with their 2-1 comeback win against Leicester City at Old Trafford in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Ruben Amorim’s men kept their FA Cup title defence alive and United will now welcome Fulham to Old Trafford next month for their fifth-round tie.
The Red Devils have found success in the FA Cup and the Europa League under Amorim, who arrived at United from Sporting CP last November.
United are through to the last 16 of the Europa League, but the Red Devils have struggled to maintain a consistent run of form in the Premier League.
Amorim’s side languish in 13th place in the Premier League table and United have won only eight matches from 24 league fixtures in the 2024-25 campaign.

Wright talks player for Man Utd
Ruben Amorim has been left short in the final third and Manchester United’s strikers have failed to deliver a regular goalscoring output this season.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Rasmus Hojlund’s form has fallen off a cliff this season and the 22-year-old Denmark striker hasn’t scored for the Red Devils since last December.
Joshua Zirkzee has been met with criticism in his debut campaign at Old Trafford and the 23-year-old Netherlands striker has also struggled in the final third.
Rasmus Hojlund has only netted seven times in 31 appearances in the 2024-25 campaign and Joshua Zirkzee has scored five times in 36 matches for United.
Ian Wright claimed that United need a player like Ipswich Town attacker Liam Delap, who has been linked with Chelsea, and called him a “hero waiting to happen.”
Speaking on Wrighty’s House, he said: “Go and get Delap.
“The thing is he’s got that hunger and disrespect for everybody and it just feels like the kind of player they need.
“They need a hero like that and he’s a hero waiting to happen. He’s hungry.”

Wright on Zirkzee vs Leicester
Rasmus Hojlund started the Leicester City match and the Danish forward was unable to find the equaliser against the Foxes when United were 1-0 down at Old Trafford.
However, Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench and replaced Kobbie Mainoo before the Dutch forward pulled the Red Devils level against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side.
Wright highlighted that United are still not providing a lot of service in the box for their strikers, despite Zirkzee making an impact in last Friday’s 2-1 win.
“Obviously, Zirkzee came on [against Leicester in the FA Cup] and he got one but I don’t think they put the ball in the box enough,” he added.
“I don’t think there’s anyone in the box for when the cross comes in. I don’t think they link the play or keep the ball well enough in the final third to sustain pressure on a team.
“They lose the ball and then teams can break on them. There’s no structure to whether they are going to try to play through teams or around them.
“So, the forwards don’t know what’s coming. They don’t get the kind of service they depend on.
“When’s the last time you saw a Man United player score a goal where he’s got across a guy at a near post? You don’t see those goals from Man United.”
