Manchester United are in awful form under Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim has vowed to stick by his Manchester United approach despite stars holding talks behind his back.
The Red Devils are in awful form under the Portuguese coach. They have lost six out of their last ten Premier League games - a run that includes five defeats in their last six league games at Old Trafford.
And as a result, United stars have attempted to take matters into their own hands. According to reports, a clutch of players have held discussions over whether the side would be best served with a slight tactical tweak, with some being ‘concerned’.
Since arriving at United, Amorim has deployed the 3-4-3 system that earned him huge success with former club Sporting Lisbon. And while there is no sign of any dressing room revolt as it stands, Amorim’s stance could ruffle some feathers.

The Portuguese head coach has already promised to not change his tactical approach despite the club’s poor form. Speaking in December, he said: "As a coach you have to choose one way or another, I choose always 100 percent our way.
“I choose to risk a bit. I believe so much in our way of playing, they will believe too. There is no second way. We will adapt some players because we don’t have a different profile.”
The latest reports from Old Trafford come just days after United legend Gary Neville had sent a warning to Amorim. He suggested that a tactical tweak may be required, or he was under threat of alienating some stars.
Speaking on The Overlap, Neville said: “They're obviously going to stick with Ruben Amorim, but the more you lose, the more difficult it is to convince the players of the idea. The idea that he talked about in the early days.

“You need the players to buy into it, but if they lose with it, and they keep getting criticised, the spotlight comes on them more and the fans are leaving unhappy."
He added: "You can't keep losing. It will depress the thoughts of the players, to the point whereby they'll lose faith with the idea. It'll damage the start of next season. He has to do something.
“He can't change his approach because he's died in a ditch on it. And rightly so. I think he's lost more games at Manchester United since he's come than he lost in the last 75 at Sporting."
