Manchester United target likened to Vinicius Junior–Will drive fans to Old Trafford

Manchester United target Geovany Quenda is like Vinicius Júnior and unlikely to remain at Sporting Club de Portugal for long.

That’s [according to Zero Zero](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7GpyohDc3A), who cover the Sporting youngster today as he continues to be linked with a major move away this summer.

Manchester United are believed to be leading the race for the highly rated 17-year-old, with a report at the end of January insisting that they had already worked out a deal for him.

Their interest comes via Ruben Amorim, who is the manager that handed Quenda his chance at Sporting and continued to back him in the first-team picture.

There has been something of a push back on that claim in Portugal, with Liverpool brought into the picture, before one of Quenda’s former coaches then admitted he would not be surprised to see him join Manchester United at some point in future.

In the meantime, he continues to impress at Sporting, adding appearances under his belt in Portugal and in the Champions League, with him already up to 37 appearances in all competitions this season.

And Zero Zero certainly believe a big move will be on the cards before too long, as they compared the youngster to Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Júnior.

“I remember thinking the same thing about Vinícius Júnior when I saw him play for Real Madrid in Braga,” they said.

“What he has that is so different, I’m seeing it live, I see things, is when they face the opponent, they touch the ball in front of them, the explosion, the pass, that… Intensity. It’s impressive, impressive.

“Quenda has that short dribble that it’s almost impossible to steal the ball from him and he seems so fragile, but at the same time he’s so powerful in the start, he’s so fast in the action he does, that it reminded me of Vinícius in that sense.

“It’s impressive the speed that they reach in a short space of time, the fast dribble, the acceleration. Incredible. I think he will hardly stay at Sporting for a long time because he is a player for big European games. I think they are those players who make you want to see it live, that is, they are those players who motivate you to see the game live.”
