Chido Obi sends message after scoring hat-trick for Man Utd, Patrick Dorgu and Shea Lacey respond

Chido Obi was once again in the spotlight on Wednesday night as Manchester United took on Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup.

The game was high stakes, with the two most successful clubs in FA Youth Cup history vying for a quarter-final spot.

However, in hindsight, it was less of a game and more of a training session for Adam Lawrence’s side.

Chelsea failed to turn up barring five minutes at the start of each half, with Manchester United’s U18 side walking to victory with Chido Obi bagging a hattrick.

James Scanlon also got himself a brace as United thrashed Chelsea 5-1, with the pair listed among the very best United’s academy has to offer.

For Obi, the next round brings with it a personal significance that he will be excited to face.

United will face Arsenal in the quarter-final of the Youth Cup, which will see Obi return to his former stomping ground after he rejected numerous contracts to instead join United.

Obi will get a good reception from his former teammates – but any Gunners fans are likely to give him a tough time, however, he appears to thrive under pressure.

This was not Obi’s only message, as he also posted on his Instagram story, saying: “Love this club”. It is safe to say the club also loves him.

Patrick Dorgu and Shea Lacey respond to Obi

In the comments to Obi’s post, his teammates sent their responses and raved about what they’d witnessed from the 17-year-old goal machine.

Patrick Dorgu was quick to respond, commenting a pair of flame emojis. He will be hoping his compatriot Obi will soon join him in the senior team.

Shea Lacey also responded as he wrote, “Levels”. This is completely true as Obi is currently showing levels to any other young striker in the league.

Amir Ibragimov commented, “Clean” along with a flame emoji.

Another response came from Ayden Heaven, who labelled Obi, “Monstro”. The pair played in the Arsenal academy together and could soon be lining out for United’s first team.

Samuel Lusale commented, “pure pure greed”, while Habeeb Ogunneye agreed, adding “greedy”. This is just because Obi scores so many goals.

Gabriele Biancheri added a shocked emoji, as he also enjoyed a strong return to action with an assist.
