“I always watch United” – Rising Serie A star following Manchester United, transfer rumours inevitable

Sam Beukema has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past few months but the Dutchman has now spoken about his regular watching of Manchester United matches.

The Bologna defender has impressed for the Italian side this season, playing 22 times in Serie A. He’s also played six times in the UEFA Champions League.

The Dutchman spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport about his future and when he spoke about his dreams, he referenced the Dutch national team and Manchester United got a mention.

Joshua Zirkzee was also referenced, given he used to be a teammate: “Josh and I are always in touch, even this morning. We don’t just talk about football, but about life. I always watch Manchester United.”

Speaking further, he said: “We have a chat with him and Ndoye and others, there’s a really strong friendship between all of us. There was a chemistry between us, which still exists today, huge, unique.”

In the past, Beukema has flirted with Liverpool and has expressed his desire for a transfer, with reports having suggested Arne Slot previously tried to sign him at Feyenoord.

The 26-year-old has also opened up about his admiration for West Ham in the past, having spoken of his liking for the Hammers since he was young.

Now it’s known he’s a regular Manchester United viewer and close friend of Joshua Zirzkee, there’s a little encouragement for some transfer rumours.
