Manager reveals Tom Brady's Birmingham staff have been raving about Man Utd loanee, hopes to get him back

Manchester United have a long list of loanees this season, but not all have made it a success thus far.

Ineos made the most of the January window in terms of loans, with 10 players being sent out on loan.

There were a range of different players sent out by Manchester United, including some first-team regulars.

Antony has shone for Real Betis so far with his loan being the biggest success story thus far. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford had a solid debut for Aston Villa.

Tyrell Malacia was PSV’s man of the match on his debut, while Ethan Ennis has been impressive for Doncaster Rovers.

Not all of the loanees have had immediate joy at their new clubs with Sam Mather and Louis Jackson yet to appear for Tranmere Rovers.

Meanwhile, Dan Gore is with Rotherham United in League One and his time has started off with disaster.

Dan Gore left Birmingham City fans in awe

Gore made an immediate impact on his debut for Rotherham, as he made an excellent assist.

However, last weekend Rotherham boss Steve Evans had an outburst over Gore for an injury which he suggested was not real.

Earlier this week it emerged Gore had in fact picked up a foot injury. This revelation led Evans to explain his stance, revealing he was frustrated before putting his backing behind the 20-year-old.

“I was frustrated at the weekend,” he said. “We’d worked on the team for two days before Shrewsbury and it changed at 9 am on Saturday morning.

“The kid trained really well and didn’t feel a thing. He was going to play a big part for us and then, after he’d gone home, he spoke to the head of medical and said he was feeling his foot…

“That’s why he’s seeing someone. Nobody is more devastated than me. I worked really hard to get him here. He had three clubs above us in League One who wanted but he chose us because of the football I convinced him he would get.”

In this same interview, as quoted by the Rotherham Advertiser, Evans revealed that after Gore’s debut against Birmingham – the staff of the Tom Brady-owned side were left raving about the United midfielder.

“The kid’s devastated. He’s such a talent.

“I had a beer with some of the Birmingham staff after the game at St Andrew’s and the only player they spoke about was Dan. It’s his little one-twos, his give-and-goes, that little bit of class.

“We’ll miss him over the next few weeks but he’ll still be a part of it if we get him back fit.”

Gore is an impressive talent, and the general feeling is that if he can stay fit he will become a very good footballer. So hopefully he returns in time to make the most of his loan.

Manchester United could already have next loan for Gore sorted

The situation around Gore was a bizarre one, with Evans’ comments considered unnecessary and potentially even cruel.

Evans’ comments raised eyebrows among Manchester United staff, with the club keen to protect the highly-rated midfielder.

The quotes from Evans however do suggest that Gore still has a place in the team should he manage to remain fit and play regularly.

If Gore can achieve this and impress, his next loan may already be sorted with Birmingham City’s clear admiration for the 20-year-old.

Birmingham are ambitious with the involvement of NFL legend Brady and are set for promotion. Therefore, if Gore can return and dominate in League One, it could end up being an interesting loan move for him next season to help the midlands side in the Championship.
