Mason Greenwood 'welcomes second child with partner' after restarting career in France

Former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has welcomed a second child with his partner Harriet Robson.

The couple said hello to their second-born for the first time earlier this week, after Harrier gave birth to another daughter.

They previously welcomed their first child into the world in July of 2023.

Speaking to The Sun, a source close to the family said: “They are both delighted with the safe arrival of their second child. They are really enjoying living in France and are enjoying the simple things.

“Mason is performing well on the pitch and then he comes home to Harriet and his children. Life is simpler and they have less distractions, which is suiting the both of them.”

Greenwood posted a picture of Harriet holding their firstborn at a recent Marseille match on his Instagram story, with the snap captioned: “Happy birthday to the best partner and mum we love you”.

Greenwood left Manchester United in the summer, joining Ligue 1 outfit Marseille in a deal worth £26million.

It came after he was arrested in January 2022 and charged later that year with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He denied any wrongdoing and the charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service after key witnesses withdrew their involvement.

Since arriving in France, Greenwood has shone for the Ligue 1 side, finding the net on 14 occasions in 23 appearances across all competitions.

Greenwood spent last season out on loan at La Liga side Getafe, where he featured 33 times, scoring eight goals and assisting a further six.

Marseille, who are managed by former Brighton chief Roberto De Zerbi, currently sit second in the Ligue 1 table, 10 points behind leaders and reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain after 21 matches.

Having rebuilt his career in France, Greenwood is being touted for a return to the international scene.

It's reported Greenwood is keen to hold talks with new England manager Thomas Tuchel to see where the land lies and discover if there's a route back into the Three Lions side.

Greenwood made one cap for England under former boss Gareth Southgate prior to his arrest in 2022.

The forward is also eligible to play for Jamaica and has reportedly completed the paper work that would allow him to switch international allegiances.
