Sir Jim Ratcliffe met with Manchester United fans this week to discuss the club’s financial situation.
The morale at Manchester United is low following news that there may be more redundancies on the way.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos have already axed 250 jobs at the club in an attempt to free up funds for United’s first-team spending.
On top of that, United announced a major change midseason with some seats for games rising in price to £66 without consulting the fans. This controversial decision also led to the removal of concessions for children and pensioners.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s reputation has taken a hit for making difficult decisions, but it’s worth remembering that Ineos are having to clean up a mess left by the Glazers.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe meets with 13 Manchester United fans
Unlike the Glazers, Ratcliffe is willing to open dialogue with fans and meet them face-to-face to discuss important matters.
That said, it remains to be seen if Ratcliffe will listen to the fans and the fears they expressed.
According to the Daily Mail, Ratcliffe held ‘robust’ talks with United fans over ticket prices after the British billionaire warned of the need to raise money during a Fan Advisory Board meeting at Carrington on Thursday.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Members of the Fan Advisory Board raised concerns all supporters have following Ratcliffe’s decision to increase the price of seats for certain matches to £66 and axe concessions.
To make it worse, Ineos decided to do this during a time United are sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Ratcliffe took the opinions of the 13-member FAB on board, while he explained his views on the financial challenges that face the football club.
The report warns that another 100-plus staff are set to be made redundant to free up more money.
Ratcliffe had previous meeting with Manchester United fans
It’s at least reassuring that Ratcliffe can face up to his decisions and doesn’t hide like the Glazer family.
The meeting on Thursday was the second between the FAB and Ratcliffe following face-to-face talks last year.
It is understood that discussions are expected to continue before United announce the season ticket renewals process for next season.
Most season ticket holders will be expecting an increase in prices ahead of next season.
