“Being happy most important thing”–Player quickly thriving after leaving Manchester United

Antony was one of multiple players to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window, and has been the quickest to make an impact after his departure.

He scored against Celta Vigo in his last La Liga match for Real Betis, and on Thursday evening he got another goal to help them to a 3-0 victory over KAA Gent in the Europa Conference League.

The Brazilian is splashed across the front page of Friday’s edition of [ABC Sevilla](https://www.abc.es/sevilla/). Inside, they state: _‘Betis soon took the lead thanks to Antony. His usual move, that of cutting back from the right wing looking for spaces to shoot. He did it perfectly.’_

Since making his Manchester United exit on loan, Antony has been having an impact in Spanish football and has been repeatedly highlighted as perhaps the best La Liga signing of the January window.

During negotiations with the Premier League club, Real Betis didn’t secure a buying option, with the concentration at the time being on negotiating the wage share between the two sides.

There’s already talk of a longer stay, although that may become more expensive for Real Betis should Antony continue to have the impact he’s shown he can summon up.

[Estadio Deportivo](https://www.estadiodeportivo.com/futbol/betis/antony-vuelve-hacer-gran-reto-betis-20250214-482344.html) quote him as saying: _“Being happy is the most important thing, and here my family and I are happy. If you are happy, everything goes well.”_
