Chelsea leading the race to land 22 year old striker this summer

Chelsea are leading the race to sign 22 year old striker this summer. The striker is having a superb season in Premier League and hence has interest from multiple clubs. But, it seem the Blues have upper hand to sign him.

The star in question here is Liam Delap who turned 22 only few days ago. He joined Ipswich Town in summer 2024 and has been superb for them so far. The young striker has scored 9 goals along with picking 2 assists in Premier League this season.

Delap is considered as one of the best young English players in the world right now. He has interest from multiple clubs ahead of the summer window. Ipswich Town have not intention of selling him but they may be forced to do so anyway.

The Tractor Boys can get relegated this season which will force them to sell some of their big players. Delap is too good to play in Championship and hence may opt to move to a bigger club. As of now, he has interest from Man United and Chelsea.

Man United are also willing to sign Liam Delap this summer. There will be a major shakeup in the current United squad this summer. Many of their current players are expected to leave which will open up space for new stars. As for striker, they have many names being attached with them.

United were said to reunite Ruben Amorim with Viktor Gyokeres. But, it will prove hard for Red Devils as the striker will prefer to join a club playing in Champions League. This will force them to monitor other options with Delap being one of them.

Ben Jacobs has reported that Chelsea are still leading the race for Delap. The 21 year old will also prefer to join the Blues as he will want to play in European competition. It will be interesting to see how much will they spend on Delap.
