Roy Keane has delivered Ange Postecoglou a dose of harsh reality as the Manchester United legend ripped into the former Celtic boss.
Postecoglou is one of Celtic’s most successful managers of all-time with five major honours won during his two-year Parkhead stint.
His swashbuckling style of play was a joy to behold in the Premiership and beyond as the Hoops completey dominated the domestic scene.
Ange’s Celtic handed out a spanking or two to some unfortunate SPFL sides and one that will always stick in the minds of Hoops fans is the 9-0 drubbing dished out to Dundee United.
That was in August 2022 as former Celtic stars Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada both netted hat-tricks to obliterate United and inflict on them their worst ever home defeat.
Fast forward to the start of 2025 and the now-Tottenham Hotspur manager Postecoglou can only dream of watching his side rack up that sort of scoreline.
At the moment, his Tottenham squad is ravaged with injuries and has been for the past couple of months or so.
His entire first-team defensive line-up including crucial centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are sidelined for the long-term and the Aussie-Greek just simply cannot catch a break.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
As such, results on the pitch for Ange have suffered and Tottenham find themselves languishing in 14th place in the Premier League with just two league wins in their last 14.

Roy Keane says it’s now time for ex-Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou to ‘suffer’
On The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, former Celtic midfielder Keane alongside Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Jill Scott were discussing Tottenham and the crisis Ange finds himself in.
Keane went into one of his customary rants and said that this happens to every manager at some point, claiming it is now Ange’s time to suffer.
He contrasted that with Postecoglou’s time at Celtic when winning was a regularity, with Keane blasting that Ange would not have been feeling sorry for fellow Premiership bosses when they had to suffer at the hands of his ruthless Bhoys.
Keane said: “When Ange was the manager of Celtic, he’s playing Dundee and Hibs every week, and they’ve got the smallest squads ever!
“I don’t think Ange was feeling sorry for them. So no, it’s Ange’s time now to suffer. You have to suffer, Ange, like lots of other managers.
“Celtic have the biggest budget and the best players, and you think he’d have sympathy at Dundee (United) when he was winning 7, 8, 9-0?”
“After the game saying, ‘oh I feel for the other manager, they’ve got a small budget’. He didn’t care less!”
Ian Wright offered his response by making the point that Ange was well supported by Celtic owner Dermot Desmond, but not to the same extent by Daniel Levy at Spurs.
The Arsenal hero said: “Yeah but he’s at Celtic who are obviously in that league, they are the guys.
“He’s got an owner now who is not going to back him like how he was backed at Celtic, it’s going to be easier for him.
“I think with his squad, it will be interesting to see whether he gets through this phase (of injuries and poor results).”

Postecoglou ‘turned Celtic around’
There’s no doubt Ange found it easy as Celtic manager. His managerial prowess and tactical innovation was too much for the Premiership to handle.
He arrived with uncertainty shrouded over him in the summer of 2021 and got off to a bad start – no Celtic fan will forget THAT defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle.
But he turned things around and then some with the squad he inherited, as Kris Boyd was alluding to recently on Sky Sports when comparing Postecoglou’s ability to get the best out of players with struggling Rangers manager Philippe Clement
Boyd said: “The prime example for me is Ange Postecoglou. He came into Celtic and that was a rebuild because Celtic had lost so many players.
“Inside a few weeks, Ange Postecoglou was able to turn (the club around). You could see it straight away, the style of play, and Celtic fans brought into that.
“They went with it and we know what happened then.”
