Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has reportedly taken a different approach to his predecessor Erik ten Hag by maintaining a professional distance from his players.
Ten Hag was sacked as manager in October after a poor start to the season, but Amorim has struggled to turn things around so far with the Red Devils currently languishing 13th in the Premier League after picking up just four wins from his first 13 games in charge.
Amorim has attempted to implement the 3-4-3 system he used to great effect Sporting, but it appears as though a squad overhaul will be needed if he is to enjoy the same success at United. And the Manchester Evening News are reporting that Amorim is 'not getting attached to the majority of squad members' as a result.
The report states that Amorim is 'not as close with most of the players' as Ten Hag was, with the Portuguese closest with his compatriots Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot ahead more 'squad upheaval' next summer.

Ten Hag is said to have had 'loyal bonds' with several members of the squad, particularly those he had previously worked with at Ajax, while he was 'popular' with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho after they established themselves as first-team regulars under his watch.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had a brief two-week stint in interim charge after Ten Hag's sacking, was also popular with the players. It is claimed his man-management style was 'appreciated' by the squad, with one senior player branding it "excellent".
Speaking last month, Amorim did admit the fact he joined the club midway through the season has affected his ability to form bonds with his players, with United's busy run of games not allowing him much time on the training ground.

"Sometimes, that detail is really important," Amorim said. "Pre-season, creating, spending three weeks together, creating something, and then you want to create something new with the players. I want them to know me in a different way, not always preparing the matches with stress, we don't have the time to do that.
"I think it's really important and I think it's the secret of teams. Even when you have the best players, if you don't you have that feeling it's really hard to win so I want to build something like that here. But we need time from that."
