The latest Premier League transfer rumours include news from Manchester United, Newcastle, Chelsea and more...

It’s finally the weekend – but that’s no excuse not to keep up-to-date with the latest Premier League transfer rumours, so we’ve once again scoured the sports columns for the biggest and boldest new stories.

We’ll kick today’s digest off at Old Trafford, with a humdinger of a story from Give Me Sport – they claim that Manchester United could offer both Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund to Napoli in exchange for star striker Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray due to his attempt to force a move out of Serie A.

Napoli are keen to offload Osimhen more permanently and were in negotiations with United over Garnacho in January, although a deal couldn’t be reached. The Red Devils could use that interest to leverage a deal for Osimhen, who United are “monitoring”.

Not that they’re alone in keeping tabs on the Nigerian, of course. Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are all mentioned as possible suitors, and it’s fair to assume that there will be a massive bidding war come the summer, with a move to England “the most likely scenario.”

The 3AM Verdict: Swap deals are hard to negotiate, which is why they so rarely get over the line, but we certainly believe that Ruben Amorim would be interested in getting Osimhen – and with concerns of United’s ability to stay within the Premier League’s PSR limits, a deal like this could make it feasible, while the existing interest in Garnacho certainly makes this more likely than most. Still, by the very nature of the deal and the sheer number of clubs who want Osimhen, we wouldn’t suggest that it’s actually probable.

Newcastle target Celtic standout

Up to St. James’ Park, now, with a story from TeamTalk, who allege that Newcastle United have joined Brighton and Brentford in tracking the progress of Celtic winger Nicolas Kühn. The 25-year-old German winger could be an option to fill the void on the right flank left by the departure of Miguel Almirón in January.

Newcastle would, apparently, “stand a very good chance” of winning the race for Kühn, who already has 29 goal contributions for the Bhoys this season, should they decide to enter. Celtic would be prepared to sell for a fee of £26m, it’s claimed, while the player himself wouldn’t demand “exorbitant wages”.

The 3AM Verdict: The link with Newcastle is new to us, but it certainly makes sense if they can’t land someone higher up their shopping list like Bryan Mbeumo. This story was also covered by Scottish newspaper The Daily Record earlier in the day, which adds some heft.

Chelsea eye Barcelona wonderkid

We’ll round things off today with a tale from Sport Witness, who cite stories from Spain which suggest that Chelsea are set to reignite their interest in Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó – despite the 21-year-old signing a new contract at the Camp Nou and establishing himself as a regular starter in Hansi Flick’s side.

Apparently, Chelsea made an enquiry in January which went nowhere, but they “continue trying” to persuade Barcelona to consider parting ways with the youngster. They even got in touch with Casadó’s entourage, it’s suggested, only to be told that a move away from Catalonia was “of no interest to him”. None of that seems to have dampened the Blue’ ardour, however, and it’s hinted that they could try yet again come the summer.

The 3AM Verdict: This doesn’t make it sound like Chelsea will have much luck, but with Barcelona there’s always the chance that they need to pull yetanother economic lever, so perhaps there’s no harm in a little persistence. Still, there are few indications that Casadó will leave the Camp Nou, so we suspect that Enzo Maresca and his transfer team will be frustrated.
