The jury is still very much out on Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.
Indeed, while Ruben Amorim does appear to have some interesting ideas at United, results on the pitch have been poor.
Amorim has made some positive changes at United, but, in a lot of ways, Erik ten Hag’s replacement is failing to impress.
Amorim has only made one signing since arriving at United – Patrick Dorgu, and speaking on Team Talks, Karen Carney has hit out at the manager for his use of Dorgu on his debut.
Dorgu was utilised as a right wing-back on his debut vs Leicester City last week, and Carney was baffled by the decision to use the £25m man out of position.
Meanwhile the pundit also said she was fuming with Amorim’s decision to substitute Dorgu after just 45 minutes, claiming that his confidence will have been knocked by this decision.

Karen Carney fuming with Ruben Amorim’s use of Patrick Dorgu
Carney spoke about Dorgu’s debut.
The pundit says she was baffled by how Dorgu was used, while she was angry with the decision to hook the defender at half-time.
“I mean, it baffled me, you bring him in and you gave him his debut at home and then you play him on the right side when he’s a left-footer.
“He was nervous, it wasn’t right for him. On his debut you put a player with that left foot with that pace, you give him that width, that space, and he didn’t. He played him on the other side.
“He brought him off at half-time, I was fuming that he did that, you’ve knocked his confidence in the first 45 minutes and now he has to bounce back from that.
“Instead of playing him in the position you signed him for, I don’t understand sometimes what Amorim is thinking or seeing, it does baffle me a little bit.”
Patrick Dorgu stats on the right side
Dorgu isn’t a naturally right-sided player, but he has played here before in his career.
Indeed, the Dane has played as a right-back, a right-midfielder and a right-winger in the past.
His record in those positions isn’t exactly brilliant though.

Dorgu’s teams haven’t thrived when he’s been played in those right-sided positions.
Ruben Amorim is a fan of Dorgu, particularly due to his athletic abilities, but, his use of his new signing in his first game was rather strange to say the least.
Hopefully, Amorim will use Dorgu in a more natural position going forwards.
