Ruben Amorim says Man Utd's 'most creative' player is so 'talented' - he's 'very important' right now

When Ruben Amorim took charge of Manchester United, there was always going to be a huge shift at the club.

Manchester United’s appointment of Ruben Amorim was a 180 from what Erik ten Hag was trying to achieve.

Amorim brings intensity and demands far more complex ideas from his team than what his predecessor ended up going for.

To date, things have not worked out for United however things could all be about to change with Amorim getting more training time over the next month.

One thing which has gone in favour of Amorim is that he is getting the best out of a handful of players recently – now he’s been discussing key names in the squad.

Ruben Amorim praises the impact of Amad Diallo for Manchester United

Under Ten Hag, there was a bizarre underusage of Amad Diallo despite it being clear as day that he was arguably the biggest talent at the club.

This all changed the moment Ten Hag was sacked which made the Dutchman’s decision not to make the most of the Ivorian even more strange.

Amad stood out under Ruud van Nistelrooy and has reached new levels under Amorim, now boasting nine goals and seven assists in all competitions – United’s top scorer.

Now, speaking before United’s trip to Spurs Amorim has discussed Amad as quoted by MUTV.

“All the credit goes to him. He is talented and creative. He was very important for us, maybe the most creative in the final third. The good period started with Ruud van Nistelrooy.”

High praise from Amorim – which Amad completely deserves.

Amorim on Alejandro Garnacho and Patrick Dorgu

Amorim had a busy press conference, which included questions about Chido Obi ahead of a potential debut this weekend.

The media also questioned Amorim about January signing Patrick Dorgu, asking how he has been adapting during the convenient nine-day break.

“We are working with him and he understands better the way we want to play. He has some habits from his old club, so he had to change things, but he had a good week.”

Alejandro Garnacho was also a player who Amorim was asked about as he praised the Argentine’s one-on-one ability.

“Yes [Garnacho is improving], he is enjoying himself, he is confident and he is good in 1v1s. These kinds of details, in a player like him, are important.”
