Tottenham vs Man United: Premier League Preview, Gameweek 25, 2025

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have had very poor campaigns in the Premier League this season.

If you asked fans from any team, you wouldn't expect them to say that both of these clubs would be playing each other in a bottom half scrap in February.

They meet at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday afternoon as the two sides are desperate for three points.

Spurs are in 14th place with United sitting in 13th. A win for the hosts would see them go as high as 12th and the visitors could also move up two places to 11th with three points depending on the results from the games of Brentford and Crystal Palace.

When the two sides met at Old Trafford back in September, Spurs trounced the Red Devils 3-0 with many people thinking it would be a promising season for Ange Postecoglu's side. How wrong they were!

The clubs also met in North London the Carabao Cup quarter finals with Tottenham coming out with a 4-3 win but both keepers that day weren't on best form.

If United are to win this game on Sunday, it would put even more pressure on the Spurs boss.

The pressure is on for Ruben Amorim too. His new formation needs to begin working on a consistent basis.

Who will come out on top in North London on Sunday afternoon in this underwhelming big six clash?

Team News

Tottenham Hotspur

For the hosts, Guglielmo Vicario is back and available for selection. The goalkeeper has been out with an ankle problem since their 4-0 win at Manchester City back in November

James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Destiny Udogie have returned to training and are expected to be available for selection.

Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison all remain sidelined.

Manchester United

There are no major team news changes for Amorim's side ahead of their trip to North London

Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw all remain on the sidelines with Martinez expected to be out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury suffered against Crystal Palace.

New signing from Lecce, Patrick Dorgu, made his debut against Leicester City in the FA Cup last time out but was brought off at half time. It is unknown if he will start against Spurs.

Likely line ups

Tottenham Hotspur

Vicario; Porro, Gray, Danso, Spence, Sarr, Bissouma, Bergvall, Kuluveski, Tel, Son.

Manchester United

Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Maguire, Mazrazoui, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dalot, Amad, Garnacho, Zirkzee.

. Key Players

Tottenham Hotspur - Lucas Bergvall

The Swedish youngster has impressed many in recent months. Bergvall also had two trials with Manchester United but of course now plays his football at Tottenham.

He impressed in the Carabao Cup tie between these two teams back in December with his aggression and desire on and off the ball.

He also scored in the semi final first leg vs Liverpool in the next round and since then has been a regular starter for Spurs. Can he impress vs the Red Devils again?

Manchester United - Alejandro Garnacho

Only a month ago, Garnacho was linked with a move away from Old Trafford and whilst that could still happen in the summer, his head is clearly still focused on the red side of Manchester.

He was brought off the bench at half time against Leicester City in the FA Cup last Friday night and changed the game with his skill and attitude.

It has been said that the Argentine is better when he comes on in the second half but it would be surprising if Amorim didn't start him away at Tottenham.
