Ange Postecoglou has been enduring a difficult season at White Hart Lane, and what was already a tricky campaign went more southwards as the Lilywhites got knocked out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the space of days, with Spurs season now hanging by a thread, very much like the Australian head coach’s future at N17.
And with only one win in the last five games in the English top tier, getting three points out of the game against tomorrow’s opponents would come as a much-needed boost at Hotspur Way as they look to gain some momentum to give a possible late push to finish among European places.

However, the North Londoners aren’t the only Big Six elite having a tough campaign, with Manchester United also undergoing a tough season at Old Trafford as both clubs shoulder each other in the bottom half of the Premier League table. They changed the coaches at M16 in order to pursue change (something that Levy has fantastically been patient with this time around); however, the Manchester Reds are still struggling to put in decent performances.
That being said, they do put up some half-decent performances on away grounds by sitting compact and hurting the opponents on transitions. This is something that Ange Postecoglou would need to be wary about, especially given how his side has been struggling on the defensive side of the game.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is of the opinion that the game would likely end in a 1-1 draw while citing inconsistent performances from both sides. Speaking on “It’s Called Soccer,” Carragher compared the clash to having two pub teams playing against one another. He said:
“This is like two pub teams, isn’t it? What is this? The Red Lion vs. The Dog and Duck? Man United does okay away from home in big stadiums, but Tottenham beat them a few weeks ago. I think this will be 1-1 because I think Man United will go there with their back five, sit back, and try to make it difficult. I’m not sure Tottenham has enough to score multiple goals, and I don’t think Man United has the quality to take all three points.”
Tottenham may have Vicario back in contention for the game, which should come as a big boost for the hosts, though that being said, Ange will still be missing the likes of Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, and Cristian Romero. Dominic Solanke, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert, and Timo Werner.
A win tomorrow will not only take Tottenham above United in the Premier League table but also provide a vital morale boost for a squad that has struggled for consistency. However, given the ongoing injury concerns and the defensive frailties Spurs have displayed in recent weeks, this fixture could turn into a battle of resilience rather than quality. United, despite their flaws, have shown they can grind out results away from home, which makes this encounter all the more unpredictable.
