Man Utd travel to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League fixture on Sunday afternoon.

Ruben Amorim is set to name five academy stars in the senior Manchester United squad to face Tottenham Hotspur amid a worsening injury crisis.

It is understood United star Amad Diallo could miss the remainder of the season after he suffered an ankle ligament issue in training this week, piling more misery on head coach Amorim. United are also set to be without Kobbie Mainoo for a number of weeks after he picked up an injury in midweek, while fellow midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are also expected to miss the trip to North London.

United are already set to be without Lisandro Martinez for at least six months after he underwent successful surgery in midweek, while Luke Shaw and Mason Mount are both long-term injury issues. Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans have also missed recent matches due to injury.

Academy stars set to be named on the bench vs Tottenham

Five academy stars have travelled to Tottenham on Saturday afternoon amid the ongoing injury crisis and shortage of senior options available to Amorim.

Manchester World understand teenage midfielders Sékou Koné and Jack Moorhouse have both been included in the travelling party to fill the gaps, while wonderkid Chido Obi has also been included in a senior squad for the first time. Young goalkeeper Elyh Harrison will be involved after the recent issues in goal, while Harry Amass is also set for involvement after he failed to secure a loan exit in the January transfer window.

Speaking ahead of the match, Amorim confirmed Obi had trained with the squad this week after his hat-trick for the U18s in their 5-1 victory over Chelsea in the Youth Cup. "I don't want to say names. We have to be careful on that. We had some problems this week," the United head coach revealed. "We called some players to be in our training so we have the data and evaluation and he is one of them."

It would be a surprise to see any of the academy stars named in the starting line up to face Tottenham, though they all have a good chance of being named on the bench for the clash on Sunday afternoon.
