Amad releases emotional statement after suffering devastating Man Utd injury blow

Amad

Amad reportedly picked up an injury in training

Manchester United star Amad has confirmed he will be out injured for "some time" in another brutal injury blow.

Taking to Instagram, He wrote: "Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season. Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever!! Time to support the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for."

The winger reportedly picked up an ankle ligament injury in training and there are fears he could miss the remainder of the season. Amad is reportedly still being assessed.

Amad has been a key player under Ruben Amorim this season. He has scored nine goals and notched seven assists, a record that includes a stunning winner vs Man City and a sensational hat-trick to beat Southampton. His form saw the winger rewarded with a new contract until 2030 earlier this season.

Ruben Amorim appeared to allude to a few injuries earlier this weekend but did not mention any names. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, United boss Amorim said: "It was a good week until two days ago. We had some problems also. We don't have players back.

"Maybe we have one or two issues, we are waiting. We have one player also who is sick so we will see who is fit. But it was good to work with team, to feel the players and try and improve performances."

Amad's injury is just the latest blow that United have been forced to deal with ahead of this weekend's clash with Spurs. Lisandro Martinez has also been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a serious knee injury.

Midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are also expected to be sidelined over the coming weeks. Toby Collyer is also struggling with his own issue.

Defenders Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw are also struggling and look unlikely to play in this weekend's clash. United sit 14th in the Premier League ahead of that game with their opponents one place and two points behind.

Following the clash with Spurs, United are then back in action against Everton next weekend before hosting struggling Ipswich.
