Antony has already sent Ruben Amorim message after Amad Man United injury blow

Man United loanee Antony

Antony has been loving his time in Spain

Hindsight is 20/20 for Ruben Amorim right now as potential Amad Diallo injury replacement Antony is thriving on loan with Real Betis.

Just incase Amorim thought his start to life with Manchester United couldn't get any worse, his best player, Amad, has been hit with a serious injury. The 22-year-old is facing several weeks on the sidelines following reported ankle ligament damage.

Amad confirmed the news on Instagram with a post captioned: “Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season.

“Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever!!"

Amorim's forward options are now limited to Joshua Zirkzee, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho. Neither one of these players has made an impact under their new Portuguese manager.

A Man United player who is putting in a run of good performances is Antony who is on-loan with La Liga club Real Betis. In his opening three games for the club, he has scored in back-to-back matches and bagged an assist.

The Spanish sides' manager, former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, has seemingly unlocked the ability of Antony early on.

Despite Amorim not wanting to think about letting go of a goal-scoring Antony, he will be hoping that the Brazilian continues this run of form. This will be because Antony will be returning to Old Trafford in the summer as there is no buy option in the loan deal.

Marcus Rashford also can't be an option as he enjoys his loan spell with Aston Villa.

Although a more streamlined squad has it's benefits, one of they key risks is losing players to injuries and having limited replacement options. Amorim has found himself on the wrong end of the stick.
