All the latest injury news surrounding Tottenham and Manchester United as they prepare to face off in the Premier League.
Tottenham return to action on Sunday when they take on fellow strugglers Manchester United as they look to climb the table. It has been a difficult time for Spurs, and while they still have plenty of injuries, they do look as though they will clear up over the next couple of weeks.
The two sides are separated by just two points heading into this one, with United holding the advantage currently. Here we round up all the latest injury news surrounding both teams.
Lisandro Martinez - Out
Martinez will be out until next year after an ACL injury. Ruben Amorim has said: “Licha is a difficult situation. He's going to be out for a while. We don't know the extent of the injury, but it's an injury that is going to take time.”
Luke Shaw - Out
Amorim has said: “Luke, just a little bit, one small issue in a different area from the last injury, so we'll try to be careful.”
Mason Mount - Out
Amorim said at the time of Mount’s injury in late December: “Several weeks. I don't know the exact date, but it's going to be for long. And that’s it, it's part of football, and you continue.”
Altay Bayindir - Out
Bayindir is expected to remain out, though he shouldn’t be too far off.
Jonny Evans - Out
Evans is not expected to return from his back injury with no fresh update from Amorim.
Radu Dragusin - Out
Dragusin is out for the season having torn his ACL.
Dominic Solanke - Out
Solanke is not expected to be back for another week after his knee injury.
Timo Werner - Out
Postecoglou has suggested he won’t use Werner for another week as he nears a return.
Cristian Romero - Out
Romero is not quite ready. Speaking about Romero and Micky van de Ven, Postecoglou said: "As I keep saying, there is a barrier you can’t cross when you are talking about people, whether that is injuries or medically. Unless you want to call me a liar, what I am saying is both of them are training. There is evidence of that if you want that. Both of them are in a good place in terms of their recovery. Different reasons we’ve held both back and again once they are right, they’ll be in."
Micky van de Ven - Out
The same as above applies.
Brennan Johnson - Out
This one will come a little too soon for Johnson, who is in a similar position to Timo Werner.
James Maddison - Doubt
Postecoglou has said that "Madders is a possibility” for this one after a calf injury.
Destiny Udogie - Doubt
Postecoglou has said: “Destiny, with the guys who have missed a little bit more, Madders has been a shorter term one, we will see. They may be on the bench and we look at our schedule when next week we have no game and can train.”
Gugliemo Vicario - Fit
Postecoglou has said: “Vicario has trained really well and is good to go.”
Richarlison - Out
Postecoglou said last week: “It’s disappointing for him. He was emotional last night because he’d worked really hard to get himself back, but again, it’s another setback that he’s going to have to deal with. We’ll hopefully get him back as soon as possible.”
Odobert is back in training, but this one will come too soon.
