Unai Emery’s four-word verdict on Marcus Rashford would’ve been Ruben Amorim biggest wish at Man Utd

Manchester United have somehow stumbled upon another crisis in an opportunity with their latest injury bug and the attacker they loaned out, Marcus Rashford, has found form.

Ruben Amorim was greeted with the worst possible news on the injury front with a triple injury blow in midfield accompanied by a season-ender to Amad.

It left many Man Utd fans baffled with the club’s decision to make the team’s attacking ranks paper-thin and that decision has come under the scanner again after Marcus Rashford’s latest game.

The on-loan Man Utd attacker played 45 minutes against Ipswich and so impressive was he that Unai Emery dropped a four-word verdict on him that would’ve been Amorim’s biggest wish.

Unai Emery on Marcus Rashford vs Ipswich

Rashford signed for Aston Villa on loan in the January window which came as a bit of an anti-climax because the clubs linked to him were much bigger in terms of their legacy and pedigree.

Rashford faced public rejections from Barcelona and Fenerbahce and early signs suggest that the forward has used that as a wake-up call.

After an encouraging debut vs Spurs in the FA Cup, Rashford made his league debut off the bench against Ipswich and tore Kieran McKenna’s side to shreds.

He created four chances, the most out of anyone on the pitch, and Villa’s equaliser came as a result of his thunderous freekick hitting the bar, the rebound from which was tapped in by Ollie Watkins.

Rashford was at his blistering best, beating defenders off the dribble and always moving on and off the ball to torment ten-men Ipswich.

After the game, Emery, a manager famous for being a hard taskmaster, had words of praise for Rashford, with his four-word verdict of “He is getting better” a bittersweet moment for United fans who yearned to hear the same at Old Trafford.

Emery said: “He [Rashford] is getting better. He was feeling comfortable as well. Today he played 45 minutes and he really helped us. They [Rashford and Marco Asensio] will get more opportunities in the future.”

Ruben Amorim was desperate for this to happen at Man Utd

Not many United fans will be sad that Rashford seems to have found some form again but they will undoubtedly be hurt that it didn’t happen at his boyhood club.

Like Alejandro Garnacho, Amorim would’ve given Rashford the opportunity to make a comeback as well but it never seemed like there was any pedigree to make that happen.

It looks like his relationship with the club was completely broken and needed new surroundings to rediscover his love for the game.

Fans would be happy to see him back to his best but Amorim and them were desperate for it to happen at the club he was at since the age of seven.
