Manchester United will be aiming to kickstart the final part of their season on Sunday evening as they take on fellow strugglers Tottenham but injuries have started to bite at Old Trafford

Manchester United face a big game in the context of their season this weekend as they take on Tottenham.

The Red Devils have endured an absolutely awful campaign thus far, sitting 14th in the Premier League table. Luckily, they come up against a fellow struggling side in the form of Spurs.

Ange Postecoglou's side have arguably been even worse this term, sitting one place and two points behind United. A win for either side then would go a long way in turning the tide.

But unfortunately, United may have to do it with a side that has been utterly decimated by injuries. Defender Lisandro Martinez has already been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a serious knee injury.

He has been joined on the sidelines by Amad, who has picked up an ankle ligament injury. Meanwhile, there are a number of problems in midfielder with Toby Collyer, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte all ruled out. Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans and Altay Bayindir are all also doubtful.

With that all being said, take a look at the starting XI that Mirror Football expects Ruben Amorim to field this Sunday.

United’s current injury crisis in the heart of midfield could potentially force Amorim’s hand. Ugarte, Collyer, Mainoo and Mount are all restricted to the sidelines, which leaves him only a couple of options: either Casemiro or Christian Eriksen. The Brazilian appears to be the more likely to win the battle between that pair. And it would be the first time that he has earned any Premier League minutes of any kind since the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in December.
