Ruben Amorim’s preparations for the Tottenham game were sent into a tailspin due to negative developments on the injury front and an update on one has emerged.
The Manchester United midfield has been decimated due to a triple injury blow to Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Toby Collyer.
Amad’s season has likely ended after an injury to his ankle ligament, while all four will miss the game against Tottenham.
An injury update on Kobbie Mainoo has emerged in the meantime via Fabrizio Romano.

Kobbie Mainoo injury update
The timescale for return for Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer is still not clear while the worst-case scenario has reared its head for Amad.
For Mainoo, however, Fabrizio Romano reports that his injury could see him be ruled out of action for at least two or three weeks, with the absolute final timescale yet to be decided.

That comes as a huge blow to the player as well, who was just beginning to find his feet in Ruben Amorim’s XI in a new role as one of the two advanced midfielders in the team.
MORE UNITED STORIES
His performance in the Europa League at FCSB already looks like a lifetime ago as he followed that up with a lifeless display as a False 9 and he’s now injured again.
Man Utd’s midfield dilemma
As it stands, Bruno Fernandes is the only fit natural midfielder in the squad and even then, it can be argued that he’s at his best closer to the goal.
Jack Moorhouse could get a breakout opportunity against Tottenham but the reality is that any hope of United having a respectable finish to the season looks dim now.
For Mainoo, it continues a concerning trend this season of picking up knocks that derail his momentum when he starts to get going.
His acclimatisation into Amorim’s setup was delayed because of an injury he picked up under Ten Hag and this knock also came just when he was learning to thrive in a new role.
